Dreaming

Moon beams in the corner
You inside my head.
Time goes by so slowly
As I'm dreaming in my bed.

A part of me is hoping
That I might catch a peek
Of the peaceful look upon your face
As you lay asleep.

If only I could be there
To gently touch your skin
A kiss upon your forehead
Then carefully tuck you in.

But I can only dream
And hope it'll come to be
Secretly wondering if
You're peacefully dreaming of me.

Untitled

Scents of flowers
Summer's breeze
Whispers gently
Through the trees.
Darkness draws
My wandering eyes.
I gaze upon
The starry skies.
The silence takes
My thoughts to you.
I'm wondering if
You love me too.
For forces I cannot predict
Are making me fall in love too quick.
I sigh and
Return to bed.
Keeping my wishes
Inside my head.
Someday we will share my view.
The summer air...and me with you.

Girlfriends

While sitting with my friends discussing,
make up and our looks we're fussing.
Why do I feel so disgusting?

With them, I am out of place.
How can they stand my ugly face?
My time with them is just a waste.

Girlfriends make you feel like shit.
Their put-downs I cannot forget.
So friendship: I am through with it.

Winter Travels

All around me
beams of light
reaching up
into the night.

Man-made clouds
hang in the air.
Against the black
they linger there.

Toasty houses
seem far away
behind the bails
of snow covered hay.

No tracks before us.
Now some behind.
Leaving a trail
for fellow travelers to find.

(This is stuff I wrote in high school)

Love
Looks not with the eyes
But with the mind
Beautiful

Eyes
Big, bold
Searching, looking, probing
Showing your soul to the world
Window

Summer
Hot, sticky
Scorching, burning, sweating
A cool glass of lemonade
Fun

Daisies open up
Lilies of the valley grow
Everything’s a new

The warm fresh breeze blows
Lifting my hair off my face
So gentle…so warm

The salty ocean
Licks at my feet. I inhale.
Warm sand beneath me.

Here comes the sunshine
Go away snow! Here comes warmth!
Melt the snow away!

Crisp air hits my face
A shiver runs down my spine
Branches are drooping
With the weight of the cold snow
As I leave my foot print trail

Sun is beating down
Burning the flowers and trees
Waves of heat rise up
A cool drip of water falls
Onto my dry, thirsty tongue.
